Social Tennis
One of the benefits of being a Scarborough Tennis Club Member is our free organised social play all year round. On the weekends, don’t forget to stick around to socialise and grab a drink from our club bar. Social tennis is run on the following days every week unless otherwise specified:
Tuesday 9:00am – 12:00pm
Saturday 1:30pm – 5:00pm
Sunday 1:30pm – 5:00pm
Visitors are more than welcome to join social tennis! The visitor’s fee is $15/day. If you decide to join us after trying us out a few times, your first 3 visitors’ fees will be deducted from your membership fee.
All organised social tennis is doubles play – both mixed and same-sex. Sets last for up to 30 mins each, so over the course of an afternoon you get to play with a variety of different people. All members are allocated a membership number and a playing grade which is based on Tennis West’s recommendations for classifying players abilities in a social environment. This helps us better match players to ensure competitive sets.
In addition to the regular social days we also provide throughout the season:
Twilight Tennis: Social tennis during the evening, often with food/drinks after!
Club Tournaments: Ranging from fun events, Handicap Tournaments through to the annual Club Championships
Visits to other clubs: Scarborough traditionally has a large contingent of players who go to country based tournaments like Busselton, Geraldton and Bridgetown as well as visiting many metropolitan clubs.
