From the Chairman & Committee
The grass is back. The new season starts here.
After three months of winter closure, our beautiful grass courts are ready to come back to life — and there’s something pretty special about seeing them ready for another season of tennis.
This Saturday, 3 October is our Members Opening Day, and we’d love to see as many members as possible down at the club to celebrate.
From 1pm–4pm, we’ll have organised Social Tennis, giving everyone a chance to get back on the grass, have a hit and catch up with friends after the winter break.
Then at 4.15pm, we’ll officially open the grass court season with our Season Opening Ceremony.
We’ll be joined by VIP guests, our valued sponsors, Mayor Mark Irwin and representatives from the City of Stirling, along with our Committee and members, as we officially kick off what promises to be a very exciting season for Scarborough.
And don't rush off after the ceremony.
The bar will be open, there’ll be food and plenty of time to stay around, have a drink, watch some more tennis and enjoy being back at the club.
It’s always one of the best days of the year at Scarborough.
So grab your racquet, wear your club colours and come down.

Bring someone new to Scarborough this Sunday.
Our first Sunday Arvo is almost here - and we want you to bring someone with you.
This Sunday, 4 October, we’re opening the doors of Scarborough Tennis Club to the wider community with the launch of our brand-new Sunday Arvo Tennis.
And this is where our members can make a real difference.
Know someone who plays tennis? Bring them.
Have a friend who hasn't picked up a racquet for years? Bring them.
Got a family member who keeps saying they should get back into tennis? Bring them.
They don't need to know anyone. They don't need to be a member. And they certainly don't need to be a great tennis player.
For just $15, they can come along from 1pm–4pm, meet some new people and experience what Scarborough Tennis Club is all about.
We'll organise the afternoon, with set supervisors running 25-minute games and mixing players around, so people can meet different players and enjoy a proper social afternoon of tennis.
And then, when the tennis is done, stay around.
The bar will be open from 3.30pm–6pm, so grab a drink, sit on the deck, have a chat and let your guests experience the club beyond the tennis court.
This is about opening our doors, meeting new people and bringing some fresh energy into the club.
You know what makes Scarborough special.
Now let's show someone else.
Every Sunday is Community Arvo Social Day.
Sunday 4 October · 1pm–4pm · $15 to play
Come on your own. Bring a mate. Bring your partner.
Just come and give it a go.
A friendly reminder - please make sure your membership is paid!
With the new season about to get underway, a quick reminder to anyone who hasn’t yet renewed their membership for 2026/27.
Membership renewals went out back in August, so if you’ve been meaning to get around to it, now is a good time to tick that little job off the list. 😊
We want everyone to be able to come down, grab their racquet and get straight on court without any fuss. So if you’re planning on playing at the club this season, please make sure your membership is financial before you arrive.
If you do turn up to play and haven’t yet renewed, you’ll simply be asked to pay your membership fees at the bar before playing.
If you’re not yet a financial member and would prefer to play as a visitor, that's absolutely fine too - the $15 visitor fee applies.
It’s nothing complicated - we just need to make sure everyone playing on our courts is covered by the appropriate membership or visitor fee.
If you haven’t renewed yet, please do it now and then forget about it for another year! 🎾
Thanks everyone - and we look forward to seeing you back on court for another great season.
International Rules Tournament - 17th October.
One of our favourite club traditions is back - it's Internationals vs Australians! 🌏🇦🇺
We’ll divide our players into two teams based on where they were born, then let the tennis do the talking.
It’s a doubles tournament, with divisions and pairings assigned by the Captains’ teams. Expect plenty of friendly rivalry, bragging rights and, of course, a few laughs along the way.

$5 entry - includes BBQ
Check-in: 12pm
Tennis starts: 12.30pm
More details on the format and teams will be coming soon.
