Scarborough has built something pretty special for junior tennis.
Our junior program is delivered by Scarborough Tennis Academy, led by Head Coach and Director Rick Willsmore and supported by his experienced coaching team. Together, we have created a pathway that can take a child from their first tennis lesson through to competitive Pennant tennis and, for those who want to go further, State and national competition.
And the results speak for themselves.
Over the past decade, Scarborough juniors have won 36 Pennant Premierships across the various age groups - making our junior program the most successful club program in WA over that period.
That doesn't happen by accident.
It's the result of great coaching, committed players, supportive parents and a club environment that gives young players somewhere to compete, develop and belong.
More than just tennis lessons.
The Academy isn't simply about teaching kids how to hit a forehand or serve.
It's about developing confidence, character, discipline and a love of the game - while giving players the opportunity to test themselves through Junior Pennants, tournaments and other competitive pathways.
For those who want to compete, our Junior Pennant teams give players the chance to represent Scarborough, play home and away against other clubs, experience team tennis and develop through real match play.
And this season, Scarborough is taking that pathway all the way to the top, with our Junior State Grade team competing at the highest level of junior club tennis.
A club for the whole family.
Your child's tennis journey is also a great opportunity for you to become part of Scarborough Tennis Club.
We encourage parents not just to drop the kids at coaching and head home, but to become part of the club themselves - meet other families, enjoy the courts, watch the Pennant teams, come along to social events and experience everything Scarborough has to offer.
There is a Parent Membership for $90, specifically designed for parents of Junior or Mini Members.
It gives you court access when playing with your child, allowing you to get on court together and enjoy the club as a family.
Parent Members can also become part of the wider club community and take advantage of the opportunities that come with being a member.
